5. How did you attract/address your audience?

We addressed our audience by showing them our opening sequence and then asking them several questions, from this we got a bunch of positive comments which were all pleasing to hear. We also gained pointers on how we should improve our media product. As we asked our target audience we can see from this video we put together that we achieved the interest of them which was one of our main targets we were striving towards by the end of the task. When considering this question I considered the audience pleasures and how my opening sequence includes some of the main components.
* I filmed and asked questions
3. What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
by anniesadowski97
In order to answer this question I looked at two films in particular due to them being similar to mine. For instance the plot and several elements such as the photographs of young girls are used in both my media product and these films. These were Hard Candy ( 2005) and Lolita (1962). By watching and researching these films I concluded that due to the similarities the media institutes that distributed these films would be interested in distributing mine. I made sure I researched films not only like mine but were both produced in different years therefore I could see what media institutes were involved in a more modern film and then compare it to the older film, Lolita . This way it gave me a number of institutes to research into so I could find which one would be most suitable for the distribution of my media product.

My contributution
In my media group, although we worked together in planning our opening sequence we branched out when completing the pre production, for instance we all planned the type of shots we were going to use however from this Kelly created the storyboard whilst I created the shot list. When it came to the production I helped film parts of where we are first introduced to the main character, where he starts to take off his shoes and coat etc.. When it came to the editing all of the group was present so we could all put in our opinions. Kelly edited the shots together and we would then re- watch it to make sure it ran smooth. Afterwards we went to get feedback for our opening sequence. My involvement in this was asking the male audience questions and then filming one of the other female audience.
Location Reece
We also filmed in another location, in which we used parallel editing to change locations back and forth. Our other location was a woodland area this was perfect for getting shots of the young girl with her mother which fits in with our logline. The space also meant the set up was easier with less limited space making it easier to film.
Costume and Make-up
For the costume and make up, Frankie and Kelly made a list of what we needed to included in our opening sequence in terms of costume and make up. This way we knew what the features the characters needed to display.
- Old grubby wrinkle hands - Keeping in mind the idea of our opening sequence of a stalker, the old grubby hands would portray a eeriness and a mysterious feel. The dirty hands also connote that he isn't clean and has been up to no good relating to his dirty mind.
- Rolled up sleeves - By the character to having rolled up sleeves on his shirt is to present that he isn't formal and was getting stuck in, deep in thoughts of the kidnap planning.
- Desaturated drawn face
- Wellie boots on small children's feet
Props
For our opening sequence we will need a range of props mainly for the just the one location in the art room, these include:
- Pen
- Paper
- Table
- Candle
- Match sticks
- Box for images
- Photographs
- Record
Story Board
From the storyboard, drawn by Kelly it enabled me to get a sense of the type of shots that needed to be included in our opening sequence so I could then create the shot list. It also helped the whole group picture what our final opening sequence was going to look like helping us have set goals, knowing exactly whet we wanted to achieve.

Treatment
A young girl, is being watched by a psychopathic stalker who watches her every move and follows her paths as she unknowingly lives her daily life with her single parent mother. However they are completely unaware that their lives were about to change when the stalking becomes obsessive and plans began to form. His life starts to revolve around her, as he progressively keep photographs and diaries of her daily routines, becoming determined to capture her.
The mother begins to grow suspicious, seeing a man present as they play in the park and take walks to school. This suspicion becomes aware to the stalker, making him become uncomfortable and identified. This causes a change in action, which speeds up his plot to take the young girl. As his curiosity grows he starts to talk the mother making himself seem ordinary as he reveals himself to the mother and daughter
Being the 1960's, paedophilia was not recognized as an issue, therefore making his plot very easy. The stalker proceeds with his kidnapping, following the young girl and her mother as they walk home from school through the woodland. As the child runs ahead, he strikes, pulling the young girl backwards as he suffocates the mother. Hopelessly the young girl cries for help while watching her mother being beaten to the ground by a stranger, giving the stalker opportunity to escape with her daughter, while she lay unaware and helpless in the middle of the wood.
The stalker takes the young girl to a small shack, which he had been creating especially for her. They remain here for weeks, whilst the mother pleads for justice in hospital. Whilst being kept captivated the young girl had been creating a hole which finally becomes big enough for her to escape.
Her father who has only ever seen his daughter through the photographs in the newspaper, spots her as she scatters around alone, confused and gagging for help. He takes her to her mother in hospital who was suffering from severe injuries, and soon passes away, leaving the young girl with only a father she barley knew. Eventually she ends up living with her father.
